Galerie Philippe Gravier
Galerie Philippe Gravier has developed two concepts: “Maisons d’Edition,” projects that fall between art and architecture, and “Elements of Architecture,” projects that fall between architecture and sculpture. “Maisons d’Edition” are small, nomadic homes that must be movable and sustainable. These are designed by leading architects, Pritzker Prize winners, Grand Prix National d’Architecture recipients, and international artists. Whether a jewel or a folly, each of these small houses needs to correspond to the architect or artist’s personal signature, based on innovation. Designed as hotel suites and easily assembled, their surface area is a maximum of 400 square feet, and they are produced in limited editions of eight numbered examples and four artist’s proofs. “Elements of Architecture” are produced more as sculptures than as design, and demonstrate each architect’s personal signature style and excellence. They are produced in limited editions of five.
