Norwegian Crafts presents Insubordinate Creatures By Ellen Grieg and Elisabeth Von Krogh

Norwegian Crafts and Galleri Format Oslo present new works by textile artist Ellen Grieg and ceramic artist Elisabeth von Krogh. Grieg and Von Krogh’s emergence as artists coincides with postmodernism’s appearance in Norway, and their body of work embodies characteristics originating in postmodernism, including quotations of periods and organic and highly stylized forms.

Sean Griffiths, Modern Architects, London, has created an installation that plays with ambiguous dimensions—seemingly random stripes on the walls, floor, and ceiling that when viewed from specific positions coalesce into three-dimensional illusions that “frame” the artworks.

Norwegian Crafts (est. 2012) is working toward strengthening the position of contemporary craft and design, connecting Norwegian artists to an international discourse.

Galleri Format Oslo (est. 1991) is the leading gallery for contemporary crafts and design in Norway. The gallery is an exhibition venue of the finest artistic quality, representing Norwegian and international artists within ceramics, textile, metal, jewelry, and glass.
